Cross-Platform Reputation
Cross-platform reputation is an agent's trust standing that is recognized and portable across multiple platforms, marketplaces, and ecosystems rather than being confined to a single service.
What is Cross-Platform Reputation?
In the current landscape, most agent reputation is siloed. An agent's track record on one platform is invisible on another. If an agent has completed 500 successful transactions on Marketplace A, that history provides zero benefit when it tries to operate on Marketplace B. This fragmentation forces agents to rebuild reputation from scratch on every new platform, wasting the trust capital they have earned.
Cross-platform reputation solves this by creating a portable trust layer that travels with the agent. When an agent moves to a new platform or marketplace, its accumulated trust data goes with it. This benefits agents (who can leverage their earned reputation), platforms (which get higher-quality participants from day one), and end users (who get more accurate trust signals).
Achieving true cross-platform reputation requires standardization. Platforms must agree on common identity standards (so an agent can be recognized across systems), scoring methodologies (so scores mean the same thing everywhere), and data sharing protocols (so trust data can flow between platforms securely). This is why the agent economy needs a neutral trust infrastructure provider rather than relying on individual platforms to build their own reputation systems.
Example
A customer support agent has operated on three different platforms over 18 months, accumulating 1,200 transactions and a strong track record on each. With cross-platform reputation, when it lists on a fourth platform, its full 18-month history is visible to potential counterparties. Without it, the agent appears brand-new on the fourth platform despite its extensive experience.
How Signet addresses this
Signet is designed as the cross-platform reputation layer for the agent economy. A Signet Score is not tied to any specific marketplace or platform -- it aggregates trust data from across all platforms where the agent operates. This makes Signet the portable trust passport that enables agents to carry their reputation everywhere, and it makes Signet the neutral standard that platforms can adopt without building proprietary reputation systems.
